The ISO1050 is a galvanically isolated CAN transponder that meets or exceeds the technical specifications of the ISO11898-2 standard. The device has several logic input and output buffers separated by a silicon oxide (SiO2) insulating barrier, the ISO1050DW in the first paragraph of the description and 2500 VRMS for the ISO1050DUB. Used with isolated power supplies, this device prevents noise currents on data buses or other circuits from entering the local ground and interfering with and damaging sensitive circuits.
As a CAN transceiver, the device provides differential transmit capability and differential receive capability for the bus and CAN controller, respectively, with signaling rates up to 1 megabit per second (Mbps). Ideal for harsh environments, the device features cross-wire, overvoltage and ground loss protection (–27V to 40V), thermal shutdown, and a common-mode voltage range of –12V to 12V.
The ISO1050 is rated for an ambient temperature range of –55°C to 105°C.
