Precautions when using ROHM products
1. Our products are specially designed and manufactured for general electronic equipment (such as audio-visual equipment, electronic products, electronic products, electronic products, etc., office automation equipment, telecommunication equipment, household appliances, entertainment equipment, etc.). If you plan to use our products for equipment that requires extremely high reliability (such as medical equipment (Note 1), transportation equipment, transportation equipment, aircraft/spacecraft, nuclear energy controllers, fuel controllers, automotive equipment (including automobiles) accessories, safety devices, etc.), the malfunction or failure of which may cause personal injury or serious damage to property (“specific application”), please consult your ROHM sales representative in advance. Unless ROHM's prior written consent is granted, ROHM shall not apply to any damages, expenses or losses incurred by you or a third party arising out of the use of any ROHM product.
2. ROHM's product design and manufacture follow a strict quality control system. However, semiconductor products may fail or fail at a certain rate. It is your sole responsibility to implement safety measures including, but not limited to, fail-safe design against personal injury, any property damage, or malfunction of our products may result. The following are examples of safety measures: [a] Install protective circuits or other protective devices to increase system safety [b] Install redundant circuits to reduce the effects of single or multiple circuit failures
3. Our products are designed and manufactured under standard conditions, not in any special or special environment or conditions as shown below. Therefore, ROHM shall not be liable in any way for any damage, expense or loss arising from the use of any ROHM product under special or special circumstances or conditions. If you intend to use our products in special environments or conditions (as shown below), your independent verification and confirmation of product performance, reliability, etc. must be preceded by: [a] The use of our products in any liquid, including water, Oils, chemicals and organic solvents [b] Use our products outdoors or where the product is exposed to sunlight or dust [c] Use our products where the product is exposed to sea breeze or corrosive gases (including Cl2, H2S, NH3, SO2, and NO2 Use our products in places where the product is exposed to static electricity or electromagnetic waves[e] Use our products near heat-generating parts, plastic ropes, or other flammable items. [f] Seal or coat our products with resin or other coating materials [g] When using our products, there is no cleaning residue of the flux (even if you are not using a cleaning type flux, the cleaning residue is recommended to use flux ); or use water or water-soluble cleaning agent to clean our product post-weld residue [h] Use the product in a place prone to condensation
4. These products are not limited by radiation protection design.
5. When using the product, please verify and confirm the characteristics of the final product or installed product.
6. In particular, if a transient load (a large amount of load, such as a pulse, is applied in a short period of time). Applied, it is strongly recommended to confirm the performance characteristics after in-vehicle installation. Avoid powering up beyond the normal power rating; exceeding the power rating under steady state load conditions may negatively affect product performance and reliability.
7. Reduce power consumption (Pd) according to ambient temperature (Ta). When using in a sealed area, please confirm the ambient temperature.
8. Confirm that the working temperature is within the range specified in the product manual.
9. ROHM is not responsible in any way for failures caused by conditions that deviate from the definitions in this document. Installation/Board Design Considerations
1. When using highly active halide (chlorine, bromine, etc.) fluxes, flux residues may negatively affect product performance and reliability.
2. In principle, the reflow soldering method must be used for surface mount products, and the flow soldering method must be used for through-hole mounting products. If the flow soldering method is preferred for surface mount products, please consult with your ROHM representative in advance. For details, see ROHM Installation Specifications
Notes on Application Examples and External Circuits
1. If the constants of the external circuit change, please consider the characteristics of the product and external parts, including transient characteristics and static characteristics.
2. You agree that the application instructions, reference designs, and related data and information contained in this document are only intended to serve as a guide for product use. Therefore, if you use this information, you will be responsible for it, and you must exercise your independent verification and judgment in using such information contained in this document. ROHM shall not be liable in any way for any damages, expenses or losses incurred by you or third parties as a result of the use of such information. Anti-static measures This product is electrostatic sensitive and may be damaged by electrostatic discharge. Please take proper care during manufacturing and storage, voltages exceeding the product's maximum ratings will not be applied to the product. Please take special care in dry conditions (eg grounding human body/equipment/soldering iron, isolation from live objects, setting ionizers, preventing friction and temperature/humidity control). Storage and Transportation Precautions 1 Product performance and solder connections may deteriorate if the product is stored in the following locations:
[a] Products exposed to sea breeze or corrosive gases including Cl2, H2S, NH3, SO2 and NO2
[b] The temperature or humidity exceeds the temperature or humidity recommended by ROHM
[c] Product exposed to direct sunlight or condensation
[d] Products exposed to high static electricity
2. Even under the storage conditions recommended by ROHM, the solderability of products beyond the recommended storage period may be degraded. It is strongly recommended to use storage for longer than the recommended storage period.
3. Store/ship the carton in the correct orientation and mark the symbol on the carton. Otherwise bent wires may be due to excessive stress applied when the carton is dropped.
4. Use the product within the specified time after opening the moisture-proof bag. In which storage period is used longer than the recommended storage period
Product Label Notes The QR code printed on ROHM product labels is for ROHM internal use only. Disposal Precautions When disposing of the product, please use an authorized industrial waste company for proper disposal.
