Three-channel video reconstruction filter YUV/RGB filter 2:1 mux input for multiple rgb/yuv inputs Selectable 8MHz or 30MHz 6th order filter For rgb (yuv) applications 8MHz 6th order Y, C filter with composite Summer DC-coupled input, AC-coupled output All outputs can drive AC-coupled 150 Ω loads and provide 6dB gain Dual multiplex inputs 0.6% differential gain, 0.2° differential phase 36dB/octave attenuation on all channels.

application

Cable Set Top Box Satellite Set Top Box DVD Player High Definition TV Personal Video Recorder (PVR) Video On Demand (VOD) The FMS6419 provides full filtering or DVD applications for set top boxes. This part consists of three 6th order filters with a frequency selectable 30MHz or 8MHz. A 2-to-1 multiplexer is provided on each filter channel. This triple filter works with YUV or RGB signals. All channels accept DC coupled ground referenced 1V signals. The filter provides the 2vpp signal to the AC coupled terminal load. The low pass filter is powered by 3.3v and the output is 5.0v.

General description

The FMS6419 Offers Comprehensive Filtering for Set Top Box or DVD application. This part consists of triple 6th order with choice of 30MHZ or 8MHZ frequency and Dual filter for filtering Y, C with a composite summer. Page 1 Multipletxers are provided on the triple filters as well as Provisions for auxiliary input to the composite channel. The Triple filters are intended for either yuv or rgb signals. All channels accept DC coupled ground-referenced 1VSignals.The Filters outputs 2vpp signals into AC coupledThe lowpass filters are powered by 3.3vAnd output buffers are powered by 5.0V.The FMS6419 is a next generation filter solution from Fair Childe Semiconductor's best boxing needs and DVD players The ProductProvides selectable filtering from 30MHZ to 8MHZ on the RGB ChannelsThus, the FMS6419 addresses the requirement for a single set top box to be company with a variety of resolution standards.Additionally, the product provides Y, C, and composite video (CV) outputs. Multipletxers on the RGB and CV channels provideFurther Flexity. For DVD applications, the product provides filtering and 6. Output drive extension for 6 channels of outputs. These include R, G, B, Y , C , and CV outputs. For set top boxes, this product provides for 2 channels of video that can be filtered, as is the flexibility of selection High order filtering for multiple resolution standards. Additional flexibility is provided by the Y (Luma) and C (Chloma) Filters with a composite summer. All channels provide 6DB gain, accept 1V ground referenced injection, and drive AC coupled loads. The Filters for the R, G, B, Y, C, and CV channels are powered from a 3.3V supply and the outputs from 5V.

application

DC Level The DC level of the input signal must be between 0.0V and 1.3V at any given time, taking advantage of optimal headroom and avoiding clipping of the output. The Y channel should nominally have the sync terminal on ground and be a 1V signal. The C channel should be around 0.5 volts. This will ensure that the filter utilizes optimal headroom to avoid splicing. The DC-coupled output applies a 220µf capacitor coupled with a 150Ω termination to form a high-pass filter that passes the video frequency and avoids skew. Lower values such as 10 microF can cause problems. With AC coupling, the average DC level is zero. Therefore, the output voltages of all channels will be centered around zero. Alternatively, DC coupling allows the output of the FMS6419, but is not recommended. There are a few compromises: The average DC level at the output is 2V. Each output will consume an additional nominally 40 MW. The application will need to accommodate a 1V DC offset to the sync tip. Also, it is recommended to limit a 150Ω load per output. Drive digital pins or 5V logic with 3.3v as long as VIH and VIL.
