ZTL431, ZTL432 cost-effective adjustable precision parallel regulator
describe
The Z TL431 and ZTL432 are three-terminal adjustable shunt regulators with excellent temperature stability and output current handling capability up to 100 mA. By selecting two external divider resistors, the output voltage can be set to any selected voltage between 2.5 and 20 volts.
These devices can be used as replacements for Zener diodes in many applications where improved performance of Zener diodes is required.
Characteristic temperature range…………-40 to 125°C
Reference Voltage Tolerance at 25°C
0.5%...B grade
1%…Class A low output noise
0.2 typical output impedance Current sink capability...1mA to 100mA adjustable output voltage...V to 20V Ref pin connection
The ZTL432 has the same electrical specifications as the ZTL431, but has different pinouts in SOT23 (F suffix) and SOT23F (FF suffix).
Both variants have two grades, with initial tolerances of 1% and 0.5% for grades A and B, respectively.
It is functionally equivalent to the TL431/TL432 except for the maximum operating voltage and has a standard ambient temperature range of -40 to 125°C.

notes:
Availability of Equipment in Pre-Production Condition Absolute Maximum Ratings Cathode Voltage (V) 20V Continuous Cathode Current (I) 150mA Reference Input Current Range (I) ………-50µA to 10µA Operating Junction Temperature -40 to 150° C Storage Temperature -55 to 150°C Soul Soul Referee Operation above the Absolute Maximum Ratings may result in equipment failure. Exposure to absolute maximum ratings for extended periods of time may degrade device reliability.
Unless otherwise specified, voltages specified are relative to the anode pin.
The dynamic output impedance R is defined as the dynamic output impedance R' of the entire circuit when the device is programmed with two external resistors R1 and R2 (Figure 2) defined as: z
R=Rz 1+——r2zγR1γ
stability boundary
The ZTL431 and ZTL432 are stable over capacitive loads. As shown in the typical characteristic diagram on page 5, there is an unstable region. The diagram shows a typical situation. To ensure reliable stability, a 4.7nF or larger capacitor is recommended between the anode and cathode.
