Domestic automobile IC rushes out of the block

As we all know, semiconductor components are at the heart of automotive electronics, including vision-based GPUs, MCUs, application processors, sensors, and DRAM and NAND flash memory, and other key components that drive innovative automotive technologies. About 8,000 chips are needed in a car today, and as the complexity of the car increases, the demand for automotive semiconductor components is set to grow steadily. Although automotive accounts for only about 10% of the entire chip industry compared to other fields, Gartner Group predicts that by 2020, the profit growth rate of this business segment of automotive semiconductors will be twice that of the global chip market. Therefore, the automotive sector is a new engine for the chip industry to promote its long-term development.

In the face of such a large "cake" in the automotive chip market, many semiconductor manufacturers have entered. It is understood that the field of automotive-grade MCU chips has always been monopolized by foreign manufacturers, and domestic manufacturers have rarely made breakthroughs in this field. However, domestic MCU cutting-edge companies launched the KF8A100 and KF8A200 series for the automotive market in 2019, including 17 automotive-grade grades MCU, aroused industry attention. Both KF8A100 and KF8A200 use the KungFu8 core architecture processor independently developed by ChipON. The processor adopts a pipeline structure and has been verified for 10 years, which greatly improves the efficiency and stability of instruction operation. At the same time, it is also equipped with self-developed development tools, which truly realizes full autonomy from chip to tool chain.

KF8A100 and KF8A200 have all passed the AEC-Q100 automotive electronic system quality standard certification, with high reliability, the temperature level reaches Grade 1, meets the operating temperature range of -40 ° C ~ 125 ° C, and all pins can withstand 8KV ESD (Human Body Model) contact Discharge; the chip can easily pass the 4.2KV EFT interference test. KF8A100 and KF8A200 have a total of 17 car-grade MCUs, Flash from 4KB-64KB, pins from 14PIN-100PIN, adopting the analog-digital hybrid design thinking, providing more abundant peripheral resources, basically covering the application of automotive electronic control modules, It has been widely used in automotive electronic control modules such as lights, automotive switch panels, door and window control, sound control, water pump control, and automotive instrument panel display.
