Original spot extension micro charging management ICTP4101 TOP POWER ASIC 2019+ TSOT23-6

Product Description

TP4100/TP4101 is a complete single-cell lithium-ion battery charge management and discharge protection chip, the first 5V power supply reverse polarity protection, with battery reverse polarity protection, compatible with 3mA-1000mA charging current. Its constant current/constant voltage linear control, thin DFN and TSOT packages and low external component count make it ideal for portable product applications.

External sense resistors and blocking diodes are not required due to the use of an internal PMOSFET architecture, coupled with a reverse charge protection circuit. Thermal feedback automatically adjusts the charge current to limit the die temperature during high power operation or high ambient temperature conditions. The chip has an adaptive function of power supply voltage and power, and can directly draw power from USB or solar energy. The full voltage is fixed at 4.2V, while the charge current can be set externally with a resistor. When the battery reaches 4.2V, the charging current drops to 1/10 of the set value, and the TP4100 will automatically terminate the charging.

The discharge management of TP4100 includes under-voltage protection, over-charge protection, output short-circuit protection, output over-current protection, chip over-temperature protection and delayed self-activation recovery after various protections. Other features include charge current monitor, under-voltage lockout , automatic recharge, and two pins for indicating charge status (TP4101 has one charge indicating status pin). The TP4100 is packaged in an 8-pin DFN3*3 package with a charging current range of 3mA-1000mA. The TP4101 is packaged in a 6-pin TSOT23 with a charging current range of 3mA-600mA.

Precautions for TP4100/TP4101 Test Use

1. In order to ensure reliable use in various situations and prevent chip damage caused by spikes and glitches, it is recommended that 10uF ceramic capacitors and 0.1uF ceramic capacitors be used for Vcc and BAT in TP4100/TP4101 applications. All capacitors must be located close to the chip lead. The feet should not be placed too far. In the application of reverse power supply protection environment, it is required to use an application circuit with dissipation resistance and increase the input capacitance.

2. If you need to test the charging current of TP4100/TP4101, the BAT terminal of the chip should be directly connected to the positive pole of the battery, and the ammeter cannot be connected in series. The ammeter can be connected to the Vcc terminal of the chip.
