The AEO series safely interrupts short circuit currents up to 20 kA at 1,000/800 VDC and is rated for operation from 10 A to 50A. In addition to excellent performance, this series supports a variety of mounting styles.

High voltages and currents are present in many places in an electric vehicle. Their battery packs with thousands of rechargeable cells store large amounts of energy to meet drive performance and range requirements with minimal charging time. Such applications require highly reliable fuses to protect the power supply. They are used in applications such as battery management systems (BMS), on-board and off-board chargers, DC-DC converters, and other systems exposed to high voltages.

Fuses made with solder connections between fuse wires and contact caps are seen as having an inherent weakness in the solder joints, and the production process for this technique is not always 100%_error free. Soldering the contacts is a more reliable method, and Schurter's patented soldering process ensures the highest reliability.

AEO series fuses meet AEC-Q200 reliability specifications and are UL listed. Mounting options include compatibility with Schurter's heavy-duty CSO fuse clips designed for voltages up to 1500 VDC with a maximum current of 32A. Other options include in-line axial terminals for wiring, through-hole PCB mounts or screw mount PCBs.
