AP64350/351/352 and AP64500/501 Synchronous Buck Converters

Diodes' 40 V 2.2 MHz Synchronous Buck Converter Provides High Efficiency at All Loads

Image of Diodes' AP64350/351/352 and AP64500/501 Synchronous Buck Converters Diodes' AP64350, AP64351, AP64352, AP64500 and AP64501 are all 40 V high efficiency synchronous DC-DC buck converters. The special design of the gate drivers/directors enables them to operate in LDO mode, allowing duty cycles close to 100%. When the load current approaches zero, the device enters pulse frequency modulation (PFM) mode to improve the power efficiency of the converter. The AP64350, AP64351, AP64352, AP64500, and AP64501 devices feature Spread Spectrum (FSS) (±6% switching frequency jitter), which reduces EMI by not allowing the transmitted energy to stay on any one frequency for any appreciable time.

The AP64350, AP64352 and AP64500 have programmable switching frequencies up to 2.2 MHz and can also be synchronized to an external clock. The nominal switching frequency of the AP64351 and AP64501 is 570 kHz. The AP64351, AP64352, and AP64501 feature programmable soft-start to reduce inrush current, while the AP64350, AP64351, AP64500, and AP64501 feature external compensation to optimize loop response. All of these diode converters are available in SO-8EP packages and evaluation boards are available for each module.
