nRF5340-PDK dual processor
The nRF5340-PDK combines a high-performance application processor with a fully programmable ultra-low-power network processor. This is a preview development kit for the nRF5340 which is a dual-processor SoC with Bluetooth® 5.1, Bluetooth Mesh, Cable, and Zigbee wireless protocol support. This affordable kit allows developers to use all the features of the nRF5340 on a single board.
The 128 MHz ARM Cortex-M33 applications processor has 1 MB of flash and 256 KB of RAM, while the 64 MHz ARM Cortex-M33 network processor has 256 KB of flash and 64 KB of RAM. The SoC features Root of Trust and Trusted Execution, supports operating temperatures up to 105°C, and features an advanced digital interface. It is an ideal SoC for professional lighting, advanced wearables and other complex IoT applications.
The nRF5340 SoC has comprehensive wireless protocol support. It supports Bluetooth Low Energy and has all the features of Bluetooth 5.1. All features of Bluetooth 5 are also supported, including remote and advertising extensions. It also supports wireless mesh protocols such as Bluetooth mesh, Thread and Zigbee, as well as other wireless protocols such as NFC, ANT, 802.15.4 and 2.4 GHz proprietary.
The nRF5340-PDK includes an NFC antenna that quickly enables testing of the nRF5340 SoC's NFC-A tag peripheral. There is a SEGGER J-Link debugger on board for full programming and debugging of the nR5340 SoC and external targets.
All analog and digital interfaces and GPIO are available through the connector. The PDK is hardware compatible with the Arduino Uno Rev3, which means it can easily interface with external device shields, including the Power Profiler kit. Four buttons and four LEDs simplify the input and output of the nRF5340 SoC.
The nRF-PDK can be powered by an external power supply, USB, and can also include a CR2032 battery holder and Li-Po battery connector for field testing. Dedicated power measurement pins can be used to monitor power consumption
