UBAL series terminal block 1086465
The UBAL terminal series consists of aluminum conductors and copper wires for use with UBAL universal terminal blocks. The pre-lubricated contact cavity simplifies the connection of aluminium conductors and ensures that no maintenance is required for screw connections. These modules achieve an optimum conductor connection because each module is equipped with a hexagon socket head screw, which allows high tightening torques to be applied to the screws.
When connecting aluminum conductors, some guidelines must be followed. Aluminum begins to oxidize immediately after exposure to oxygen, so the oxide layer must be removed prior to installation as this layer is very hard and non-conductive. For aluminium conductors, according to IEC 60228, there are only two types of wire that fall into category 1 (solid) and category 2 (stranded).
