The Molex SpeedMezz connector family offers differential header options with SpeedStack and SpeedEdge headers that provide speeds up to 56 Gbps and have the same footprint. These options make upgrading from one connector system to another simple and convenient. SpeedField plugs are single-ended and have a maximum speed of 20 Gbps.
SpeedStack mezzanine solutions are available in stack heights from 4.00 mm to 10.00 mm, while SpeedEdge mezzanine solutions are available in stack heights as low as 7.00 mm. SpeedEdge receptacles address the market need for small connectors with robust mechanical properties. They offer more moderate terminal entry for improved reliability and a robust housing to handle relatively thick PCBs.
SpeedMezz connectors provide flexible performance solutions to meet a variety of application needs. They feature a 1.00 mm contact surface for optimum signal integrity or a 2.00 mm contact surface for optimum mechanical performance and reliability.
In response to market demand for a move towards flexible design solutions, SpeedStack, SpeedEdge and SpeedField sockets have the same footprint, can be easily replaced, and can be used as a mezzanine or edge card solution. SpeedEdge connectors are available in vertical and right-angle configurations. Customers also demand smaller and smaller module sizes, so the SpeedMezz connector family offers 22 to 82 circuits in a small form factor and is designed to scale to accommodate more circuits.
