Overview
The TP1002 is a high-performance AC/DC power controller that drives low-cost 1300 series NPN transistors with pulse-width modulation (PWM) and PFM adaptive modes. The chip has a built-in innovative low-power consumption and fast-start structure, which solves the contradiction of slow power-on and start-up in the current high-power system.
TP1002 with TP1550 (or 431) and optocoupler can accurately control constant voltage/constant current (CV/CC), which can realize stable system operation, greatly simplify the design of low- and medium-power CV/CC power converters, free debugging, convenient production, the work failure rate is extremely low, and it can provide extremely strict output voltage and current regulation accuracy at the same time.
TP1002 controller has low cost, high efficiency, minimal no-load power consumption/fast start-up: 20W circuit typical value is
50mW/170ms@220Vac. CV/CC power converters and adapters for output power 0.5W-20W.
It is recommended to use SOT23-5 package for 0.5W-12W and SOP8 package for 8W-20W.

In the contest between TSMC and Samsung, starting from 7nm, TSMC seems to have left its biggest rival Samsung far behind. Although TSMC is known as the "perfect executor of Moore's Law", the mass production of the 2nm process after 4 years has really surprised the editor. After all, Intel, the creator of Moore's Law, is still struggling in the 10nm process until recently. There are products using 10nm process on the market.
In fact, as early as when the process technology reached 10nm, the statement that the semiconductor process has reached the physical limit began to be widely mentioned in the industry. Among them, only the quantum tunneling effect and parasitic capacitance are difficult to solve. The former is that when the size of the transistor is reduced to the atomic level, electrons may randomly pass through the barrier and cause leakage, thereby increasing the power consumption of the chip; the latter is when the circuit is too dense and too thin. In the case of , the problem of parasitic capacitance interference occurs, resulting in an increase in power consumption. This kind of argument is even more common when the 7nm process was born. After all, even Intel has made some mistakes on it, and Nvidia CEO Huang Renxun has publicly stated that Moore's Law has failed.
So does TSMC really have the ability to "hold Moore's Law to the end"? In fact, purely from the perspective of the advancement of the process technology, Intel's 10nm is even stronger than TSMC's 7nm. The transistor density of Intel's 10nm process reaches 100.8MTr/mm2, while the transistor density of TSMC's 7nm process is only 96.5MTr/mm2. Obviously, TSMC and Intel use different standards to name their process technology.
At the Science and Technology Innovation Forum meeting that opened on September 18, Huang Hansen, head of TSMC R&D and deputy general manager of technology research, said that Moore's Law will continue to exist. With better transistor density, the cost-effectiveness will also be higher. Logic chips, memory, flash memory chips will also benefit from Moore's Law. Interestingly, Huang Hansen then mentioned: "The XXnm statement describing the technology level is no longer scientific, because it is no longer absolutely related to the transistor gate, and the process node has become a marketing game, which is related to the technology itself. Since the current gate width definition cannot accurately describe the core of semiconductor processes such as 7nm and 5nm, Huang Hansen suggested that new indicators should be used to measure the progress of the semiconductor process. In the future, the process can be scaled down to 0.1nm, which is equivalent to the size of a hydrogen atom. Definitions can no longer reflect the true level of technology, hydrogen atom-scale miniaturization is innovation, and many innovations are unforeseen.
Although TSMC has played a little "careful thinking" in the naming of the process technology, from the perspective of market performance, major manufacturers and consumers are generally satisfied with the chips produced by TSMC. However, in order to continue Moore's Law and maintain its own market advantages, TSMC needs to start with new materials and packaging technologies in addition to its dead-end process technology. For example, new compound semiconductor materials such as graphene, the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory of the United States has successfully used nanocarbon tubes to form 1nm transistors; in terms of packaging technology, TSMC has launched CoWoS, bumping, InFO and other back-end 3D packaging products and front-end packaging technology.
