The 7.0 IPS TFT display offers capacitive touch or no touch capability with HDMI and LVDS interface options. Newhaven Display has added four IPS technology-enabled displays to its TFT product line to address and improve upon the shortcomings of typical twisted nematic (TN) LCD panels.

With IPS technology, the electrodes are arranged so that the liquid crystal inside the screen rotates parallel to the screen, rather than twisting and standing upright as in TN technology. This characteristic of crystals provides IPS displays with several image quality advantages, such as truer color reproduction, excellent viewing angles, and higher contrast ratios.
