The AL8860/1Q hysteretic mode DC/DC step-down LED driver is AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified. The driver operates over a wide input supply voltage range of 4.5 V to 40 V. 4.5 V enables the device to operate in start-stop conditions, while 40 V allows it to withstand load dumps. The LED driver can provide up to 1.5 A of LED current in the MSOP8EP package. The AL8860QMP/1QMP supports PWM and analog dimming via the CTRL/VSET pin. Using an external capacitor on this pin can set the soft-start time. Applying 0.2 V or less to the CTRL/VSET pin turns off the internal power switch and puts the device into standby mode and consumes micropower. The AL8860QMP/1QMP driver is automotive compliant and supports PPAP documentation.
