MA800GQ-P, MagAlpha non-contact angle sensor

The MA302, MA702 and MA730 sensors detect the absolute angular position of a diameter magnetized cylinder on a rotating shaft. Fast data acquisition and processing provides accurate angle measurements at speeds from 0 rpm to 60,000 rpm. These angle sensors support various spatial configurations and magnetic field strengths. Both shaft supported (side shaft mounted) and shaft end configurations are supported. The sensor features magnetic field strength detection with programmable thresholds that can detect the magnet position relative to the sensor for functions such as detection of axial motion or diagnostics.

The MA800 is an easy-to-use magnetic angle encoder with digital output designed to replace analog potentiometers or rotary switches. The encoder is designed for slow speed operation, such as a Human Machine Interface (HMI) or manual control, where the rotational speed remains below 200 rpm. The sensor detects the absolute angular position of the permanent magnet attached to the rotating shaft. Magnet configurations and shapes are flexible, but typically the MA800 uses a 2 mm to 8 mm diameter magnetized cylinder. The MA800 has programmable magnetic field strength thresholds that allow push or pull button functionality as two logic signal outputs.

All MagAlpha sensors provide on-chip non-volatile memory for configuration parameters including reference zero angular position, ABZ encoder settings and magnetic field detection thresholds in a QFN-16 (3 mm x 3 mm) package.
