The BQ2962 is a high precision, low power overvoltage protector with 2 mA regulated output power for Li-Ion battery pack applications.

The cells in the Series 2 to 4 battery packs are individually monitored for overvoltage conditions. Starts an internal fixed delay timer when an overvoltage condition on the battery is detected. When the delay timer expires, the output pin is triggered into an active state to indicate that an overvoltage condition has occurred.

The regulated output power supply provides up to 2 mA (max) output current to drive normally-on circuits such as real-time clock (RTC) oscillators. The BQ2962 device features a self-disable feature that turns off the regulated output when the battery voltage falls below a certain threshold. This prevents battery drain and provides external control to enable or disable the regulated output.
