i.MX7ULP Applications Processor
The i.MX 7ULP family of processors represents the latest in NXP's ultra-low power processing for use cases requiring long battery life.
Targeting the growing market for portable and low-power devices, the i.MX 7ULP family is based on a heterogeneous asymmetric architecture featuring Arm® Cortex®-A7 and Cortex-M4 cores with independent isolation domains. Heterogeneous architecture provides customers with maximum flexibility by enabling single-chip solutions that can run complex operating systems and provide real-time responsiveness.
The i.MX 7ULP series processors feature 3D and 2D graphics processing units (GPUs). It provides LPDDR2/LPDDR3 memory interfaces (up to 32 bits) and many other interfaces such as WLAN, Bluetooth™, GPS, display and camera sensors for connecting peripherals. The i.MX 7ULP processor is powered by NXP's companion power management IC (PMIC).
The NXP i.MX 7ULP Evaluation Kit (EVK) provides a platform to quickly evaluate the i.MX 7ULP.
EVK supports HDMI output for simple out-of-the-box use, but allows reconfiguration of MIPI displays. The EVK is designed as an on-board module (SOM) system connected to the associated baseboard. The SOM features 1 GB LPDDR3, 8 MB Quad SPI Flash, Micro SD 3.0 card slot, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth capability, USB 2.0 OTG with Type-C connector and NXP PF1550 Power Management IC (PMIC). The baseboard provides additional features including a full SD/MMC 3.0 card slot, audio codec, multiple sensors, HDMI interface and alternate MIPI display interface. In addition, EVK assists software development with the ultimate goal of accelerating time-to-market by supporting the Linux® operating system and the Android® rich operating system, as well as FreeRTOS®.
