AEC-Q200 Qualified Automotive Grade Surface Mount Multilayer Varistors - AUML Series
Littelfuse's AUML Series Multilayer Varistors are designed to protect systems from damaging voltage transients in vehicles
Image of Littelfuse's AUML Series Multilayer Varistors Littelfuse's AUML Series Multilayer Transient Surge Suppressors are designed to suppress the effects of damaging voltage transients in automobiles. The most common transient conditions arise from large inductive energy discharges. Electronic systems in automobiles such as anti-lock braking systems, direct ignition systems, engine controls, airbag control systems, wiper motor controls, etc. are susceptible to damage from these voltage transients and therefore require protection. AUML transient suppressors have temperature-independent suppression characteristics that provide protection from -55 °C to +125 °C.
AUML suppressors feature rugged protection and excellent transient energy absorption in a semiconducting ceramic small package. These devices are in the form of ceramic leadless chips with no lead inductance, while ensuring that the product achieves high-speed transient surge response. These suppressors require significantly less space and pads than silicon TVS diodes, giving designers greater board layout flexibility.
