TLE8366E

The TLE8366 is a PWM step-down DC/DC converter with integrated 1.8 A power switch in a small PG-DSO-8 thermal pad package. Three models are available, two with a fixed voltage of 5.0 V (TLE8366EV50) or 3.3 V (TLE8366EV33), and one with a variable voltage, the TLE8366EV, with a reference feedback voltage of only 600 mV. The wide input voltage range of 4.75 to 45 V makes the TLE8366 suitable for a variety of applications. The device is designed for harsh automotive environments. The 370 kHz nominal switching frequency allows the use of small, cost-effective inductors and capacitors for low and predictable output ripple, reducing board space consumption. If required, the device can be synchronized to an external frequency source from 200 to 530 kHz. The TLE8366 has safety features such as cycle-by-cycle current limit, overtemperature shutdown, and undervoltage lockout. The enable function in shutdown mode consumes less than 2 μA of current, facilitating power management in battery-powered systems. The voltage regulation loop provides excellent line and load regulation. Loop stability can be adjusted using an external compensation wind path. This compensation network, combined with voltage-mode regulation and a feed-forward control path, ensures efficient line transient suppression. During startup, the integrated soft-start limits inrush current peaks and prevents voltage overshoot.
