When using a single-cell Li-Ion or Li-polymer battery, the output current can be up to 1200 mA (96%), and the output current can be reduced to 2.5 V to 1200 mA (3.3 V) at step-down or lower. The buck-boost converter is based on aMode (VIN = 3.6 V to 5.5 V) fixed frequency, pulse-width modulation (PWM)? Up to 800-mA output current at 3.3 V, using synchronous rectification in the boost controller to obtain mode (VIN > 2.4 V) maximum efficiency. At low load currents, automatic switching between the buck and the inverter enters a power-saving mode, maintaining high efficiency over a large load current range. Power Boost Mode Save Mode can be disabled, forcing the converter to operate at a fixed switching frequency with less than 50µA of device quiescent current. The maximum power saving mode to improve efficiency at low average current switches is limited to a typical output power value of 1800mA.
