The DS90LV048A device is a quad CMOS flow differential line receiver for applications requiring ultra-low power consumption and high data rates. The device uses Low Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) technology and supports data rates in excess of 400mbps (200mhz).

The DS90LV048A accepts low-voltage (350 mV typical) differential input signals and converts them to 3-V CMOS output levels. The receiver supports a tri-state function that can be used to multiplex the output. The receiver also supports opening, short selling and termination (100-Ω) input failsafe. The receiver output is high for all failsafe conditions. The DS90LV048A has a flow output for easy PCB layout.

The EN and EN* inputs are combined to control the three-state output. Enable is common to all four receivers. The DS90LV048A and companion LVDS line drivers (eg, DS90LV047A) provide a new alternative to high-power PECL/ECL devices for high-speed point-to-point interface applications.
