The HMC463 is a GaAs MMIC PHEMT low noise AGC distributed amplifier chip that operates between 2 and 20GHz. The amplifier provides 14dB gain, 2.5dB noise figure and 19dBm output power compressed at 1dB gain, while requiring only 60mA from a +5V supply. An optional gate bias (Vgg2) is provided to allow adjustable gain control (AGC) of 10dB typical. Gain flatness at ±0.15 dB from 6 - 18 GHz is excellent, making the HMC463 ideal for electronic warfare, ECM and radar applications. The HMC463 amplifier is small and easy to integrate into multi-chip modules (MCMs). All data and chip connections are made in a 50 ohm test fixture via 0.025mm (1 mil) diameter wire bonds with a minimum length of 0.31mm (12 mils).
