American Xilinx, Inc. announced the settlement results for the first quarter of 2005 (April to June 2004). Turnover reached $424 million, an increase of 5% from the previous quarter and a 35% increase from the same quarter of the previous year. Net profit was $95.3 million, down 27% from $130 million in the previous quarter, but double the $46.2 million in the same quarter a year earlier.

Turnover in all regions including North America, Europe, Japan and Asia Pacific increased from the previous quarter during the quarter. In addition, the turnover of the "new product groups" that have been put on the market in recent years has increased by about 10% compared to the previous quarter and a substantial increase of 94% compared to the same quarter of the previous year. The company's "new product group" includes low-cost FPGAs "Spartan-IIE", "Spartan-3", "Virtex-II Easypath"; high-end FPGA varieties "Virtex-II", "Virtex-II Pro"; and CPLDs" CoolRunner-II". Since the low-priced FPGA series "Spartan" was put on the market in 1998, the cumulative turnover has exceeded 800 million US dollars.
