Product Description

The HFC0500 is a fixed frequency current mode controller with internal slope compensation. Specifically designed for medium power, offline, flyback, switching power supplies. The HFC0500 is a green-mode high-efficiency controller. At light loads, the controller freezes peak current and reduces its switching frequency to 25kHz to provide excellent light load efficiency. At very light loads, the controller enters burst mode for very low standby power consumption. The HFC0500 provides frequency jitter to help remove energy from conducted noise. HFC0500 adopts the over-power compensation function, which narrows the difference between the over-power protection points of low-voltage lines and high-voltage lines. The HFC0500 also has an x-cap discharge function that releases the x-cap when the input is unplugged. This helps reduce no-load power. The HFC0500 has multiple protection functions, including thermal shutdown (TSD), VCC under-voltage lockout (UVLO), overload protection (OLP), over-voltage protection (OVP), and power-off protection. The HFC0500 is available in the SOIC8-7A package.
