The AM26C32 is a quadruple differential line receiver for balanced or unbalanced digital data transmission. The enable function is common to all four receivers and provides a choice of active high or active low input. The 3-state output allows direct connection to bus-organized systems. The fail-safe design dictates that if the input is open, the output is always high. The AM26C32 device is fabricated in a BiCMOS process that combines bipolar and CMOS transistors. The process provides bipolar high voltage, high current with the low power consumption of CMOS, reducing power consumption to about one-fifth of the standard AM26LS32 while maintaining AC and DC performance.
