Compared with the close relationship between Altera and Intel, Xilinx, which sticks to the cooperative relationship with TSMC, is relatively old. This time, the 20-nanometer will be put into mass production, and the next 16-nanometer FinFET process will also be ready for mass production, which means that Xilinx's The market strategy will be to supply multiple "process nodes" (28nm, 20nm and 16nm FinFET) to meet market demand, and these products will all be mass-produced by TSMC.

In addition to reaffirming the close cooperative relationship between Xilinx and TSMC, Tang Liren also emphasized that Xilinx's strategy for product promotion will not only focus on the "advanced level of the process", such as the system architecture and development tools of the product itself. It is also the key that customers are very concerned about. In terms of product architecture, Ultrascale has generally continued the characteristics of the previous 28nm product line, such as TSMC's killer packaging technology CoWoS or SSI technology, etc., and has been strengthened again, with a substantial increase in performance and transistor count.

In addition, Tang Liren also revealed that in addition to the mass production of the 20-nanometer product line next year, Xilinx will also announce the SoC FPGA plan. The implication is that Xilinx will continue the previous 28-nanometer Cortex-A9 with built-in ARM. The dual-core ZYNQ product line introduces a new generation of solutions. However, Tang Liren is not willing to disclose any information about the processor core of ARM, or whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit architecture, which shows that he attaches great importance to this product line.
