Note: For all new designs using the TPS3820-xx-Q1, use the TPS3820-xxQ P DBVRQ1 part number. The TPS3820-xxQ P is functionally equivalent to the TPS3820xxQ replacement. The TPS3820-xxQDBVRQ1 is not recommended for new designs (NRND).

The TPS382x-xx-Q1 family of supervisors provides circuit initialization and timing monitoring and is primarily used in DSP and processor-based systems. During power-up, RESET is asserted when the supply voltage V DD is greater than 1.1 V. Thereafter, as long as V DD remains below the threshold voltage V IT-, the supply voltage monitor monitors V DD and keeps RESET active low. An internal timer delays the return of the output to the inactive state (high) to ensure a proper system reset. The delay time td begins after V DD rises above the threshold voltage V IT-. When the supply voltage falls below the threshold voltage V IT?, the output becomes active (low) again. No external components are required. All devices in this family have a fixed detection threshold voltage V IT– set by an internal voltage divider. The TPS382x-xx-Q1 family also offers watchdog timeout options of 200 ms (TPS3820-xx-Q1) and 1.6 s (TPS3823/4/8-xx-Q1).
