The ADM2582E/ADM2587E are fully integrated isolated data transceivers with ±15 kV ESD protection for high-speed communication applications on multipoint transmission lines. The ADM2582E/ADM2587E include an integrated isolated DC-DC power supply, eliminating the need for an external DC/DC isolation module.

The device is designed for balanced transmission lines and complies with ANSI TIA/EIA-485-A-98 and ISO 8482:1987(E) standards.

It uses Analog Devices' iCoupler™ technology to integrate a three-channel isolator, a three-state differential line driver, a differential input receiver, and an isoPower DC/DC converter in a single package. The device operates from a single 5V or 3.3V supply, enabling a fully integrated signal and power isolated RS-485 solution.

The ADM2582E/ADM2587E drivers feature an active-high enable circuit and also provide an active-high receiver disable circuit that puts the receiver output into a high-impedance state.

The device's current-limit and thermal-shutdown features protect against output short circuits and prevent excessive power dissipation due to bus contention. It is packaged in a 20-pin wide-body SOIC package and is rated to operate over the industrial temperature range.

The ADM2582E/ADM2587E integrate isoPower technology, which uses high-frequency switching elements to transmit power through its transformer.
