The FPGA version, through the easy-to-configure, compact and high-performance processing architecture of Eutecus MVE, can embed a complete video analytics solution on a single FPGA into video surveillance cameras and related network equipment.

Designers and providers of video surveillance network equipment such as cameras and DVRs will be able to leverage this full-featured video analytics suite for real-time analysis and response. Until then, single-chip solutions were not commercially or technically feasible due to processing, cost, and power constraints. Now, by taking advantage of the cost-effectiveness of the Spartan-3A DSP FPGA, various monitoring functions such as tampering cameras, virtual barriers, object lag, and people counting can be cost-effectively integrated into cameras.

MVE is capable of processing HD resolutions at video frame rates with less than 1 watt of power, while comprehensively executing multiple event detection and parallel classification algorithms. Combined with the inherently parallel multi-core processing architecture and embedded complex video analytics algorithms in a single configurable building block, MVE can reduce hardware design and programming burdens, reducing development costs and speeding time-to-market for new products.

With the Xilinx Spartan-3 DSP FPGA and ISE Design Suite, analysis and design teams have more flexibility to customize solutions for end customers. For the specific needs of customers, MVE-based video analysis software and system-on-chip (SoC) solutions can quickly tailor better functions according to user needs. The Spartan-3A DSP FPGA version of the MVE in the XtremeDSP Video Starter Kit simplifies the designer's test and evaluation work.
