The TPS251xx devices are USB dedicated charging port (DCP) controllers. The auto-detect function monitors the USB data line voltage and automatically provides the correct electrical signature on the data line to charge compliant devices in the following dedicated charging schemes:

Divider 1 DCP, applies 2V and 2.7V on D+ and D- lines respectively (TPS 2513, TPS 2514)

2 DCP dividers applying 2.7 V and 2 V on D+ and D- lines respectively (TPS 2513, TPS 2514)
