ON Semiconductor RSL10 Sensor Development Kit Combines Highly Integrated RSL10 System-in-Package
ON Semiconductor has launched the RSL10 Sensor Development Kit, designed to provide engineering teams with a platform for fully developing Internet of Things (IoT) applications with cutting-edge smart sensor technology, enabled by the industry's lowest power Bluetooth Low Energy radio.
The RSL10 Sensor Development Kit combines the highly integrated RSL10 System-in-Package (RSL10 SIP) with Bosch Sensortec's range of advanced low-power sensors. The development platform provides 9 degrees of freedom (DoF) detection and environmental monitoring, including ambient light, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), pressure, relative humidity and temperature. Also includes an ultra-low noise digital microphone, as well as a user-programmable RGB LED, 3 programmable push-button switches and 64 kbit EEPROM.
Commenting on the launch of the RSL10 sensor development kit, Dr. Peter Weigand, VP Marketing, Bosch Sensortec said: "We are delighted to be working with ON Semiconductor to develop the RSL10 sensor kit. This small form factor platform includes Bosch Sensortec's highly integrated BME680 environmental sensor to detect a wide range of air quality A wide range of gases for applications, as well as our BMM150 geomagnetic sensor and BHI160 smart sensor for high-accuracy motion detection. The RSL10 sensor kit combines motion and environmental awareness with Bluetooth 5 certified RSL10 ultra-low power capabilities for improved sensor technology and Longer battery life enables a new class of consumer and industrial IoT applications."
Developers use the RSL10 to sense and control mobile applications that can interface to the RSL10 Sensor Development Kit to monitor the sensor and evaluate the kit features (optionally out of the box). The app also supports several commercial cloud platforms for uploading sensor data.
“The RSL10 sensor development kit, enabled by the industry’s lowest power Bluetooth Low Energy radio, will set the standard for ultra-low energy Bluetooth enabled smart sensor design,” said Wiren Perera, Director of IoT, ON Semiconductor. “We are delighted to have Bosch Sensortec support. , bringing the RSL sensor development kit to market.”
ON Semiconductor offers the RSL10 sensor development kit and many other energy efficient rapid IoT prototyping platforms, including the Bluetooth IoT development kit and the recently introduced energy harvesting Bluetooth low energy switch. The RSL10 is available in a 5.5 mm2 WLCSP, 6 mm x 6 mm QFN package and a complete system-in-package (SiP) with integrated antenna.
Stop by the ON Semiconductor booth (Hall 4A, Booth 260) at Embedded World February 26-28 for a live demonstration of how service providers can use the RSL10 sensor development kit to monitor worker safety. ON Semiconductor experts will be on hand to demonstrate our latest IoT solutions including energy harvesting, smart lighting and artificial intelligence (AI) at the audio edge.
