The LT®1021 is an ultra-low drift high precision reference and noise, excellent long term stability, and almost total immunity to input voltage variations. Reference output sources and sinks up to 10mA. Three voltages are available: 5V voltage, 7V and 10V. The 7V and 10V units can be used as shunt regulators (double terminal zener diodes) connected with the same accuracy characteristics as threeterminals. Special care has been taken to minimize the hysteresis of the regulating effects of heat and temperature. The LT1021 cited is based on a buried Zener diode structure that eliminates noise and stability issues with surface breakdown devices. Furthermore, a ground zener has better temperature drift and time stability than even the best bandgap reference. The unique circuit design makes the LT1021 the first IC reference to provide an on-chip heater that does not include the use of ultra-low drift power supplies. The LT1021-7 uses no resistor divider to set the output voltage and therefore exhibits the best long-term stability and temperature hysteresis. The LT1021-5 and LT1021-10 are suitable for systems requiring accurate 5V or 10V references with initial tolerances as low as ±0.05%.
