LM431 Adjustable Precision Shunt Regulator Zener
General Description The LM431 is a three-terminal adjustable shunt regulator guaranteeing temperature stability over the entire temperature operating range. It is now available in a chip-scale package (4-bump micro SMD) using National Semiconductor's micro SMD packaging technology. The output voltage can be set at any level greater than 2.5V (VREF) up to 36V by selecting only two external resistor dividers that act as a voltage divider. Due to the sharp turns, this device features a good replacement for many Zener diode applications.
