LM4040-Precision Micropower Shunt Voltage Reference

Description/Ordering Information The LM4040 series of shunt voltage references are versatile, easy-to-use references catering to large array applications. 2-pin fixed output devices require operation without external capacitors and with all stable capacitive loads. In addition, this reference offers low dynamic impedance, low noise, and low temperature coefficient to ensure stable output voltage over a range of operating current and temperature. The LM4040 uses fuses and zener reverse breakdown voltage adjustment ZAP on wafer to provide four output voltage tolerances, from 0.1% Class A (max) to 1% Class D (max). Therefore, a great deal of flexibility is provided to the designer in choosing the best cost-to-performance ratio for the application. Packaged in space-saving SC-70 and SOT-23-3 packages and requiring a minimum current of about 45 mA (typ), the LM4040 is also ideal for portable applications. The LM4040xI is characterized to operate over an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 85°C and the LM4040xQ is characterized to operate over an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 125°C
