LX1431 - Programmable Reference

describe
The LX1431 is an adjustable shunt voltage regulator with a 100mA sink capability, a 0.4% initial reference voltage tolerance and 0.3% typical temperature stability. This product, which is ideal for use in Pentium®
application, is equipped with on-chip shunt resistors, enabling it to be configured as a 5V shunt regulator. In this configuration, the LX1431 has a preliminary voltage tolerance of only 1%, requiring no additional external components. The Linfinity LX1431EB evaluation board and design kit help engineers quickly configure the most efficient, cost-effective Pentium designs. The LX1431 output voltage can be set to any value between 2.5V and 36V through two external resistors. Additionally, this is especially important when designing both regulated and switching power supplies. Additionally, the nominal internal 100mA current limit may be reduced with the addition of a single external resistor. For those requiring an adjustable reference, the Linfinity LX6431CLP, a simplified three-pin programmable reference, may be used. Since the LX6431 is pin-to-pin compatible with Linfinity's earlier TL431, this product provides designers with an easy transition to the more robust LX6431. A separate data sheet is available for the LX6431 which details the details of this product. Additionally, designers can use Pentium Linfinity's LX8585/8585A4.6A or LX8584/
8584A7A to achieve the optimization of low dropout regulator motherboard configuration.
