Shanghai Xinsheng’s monthly production capacity has reached 100,000 pieces by the end of 2018, and hopes to reach the monthly production capacity target of 300,000 pieces by the end of 2020, and eventually expand to 1 million pieces. Taiwan's economic sector still has reservations about opening 12-inch silicon wafers, allowing only project imports. For example, Global Wafer said that at present, the production capacity of large-size silicon wafers has been negotiated with customers for a long time, and the impact on orders is not large. Hejing pointed out that the company has produced mainly 8 inches, which does not overlap with Shanghai Xinsheng, and has little impact.
According to Taiwan's "Economic Daily" report, industry insiders said that with the support of the government's semiconductor policy, it is not surprising that Shanghai Xinsheng has passed the certification, but the actual quality and yield performance remains to be seen. Whether it can go out of the Chinese market will be the key. At present, it is unlikely that international manufacturers will transfer orders to Shanghai Xinsheng just because of the price.
