LM369 - Precision Voltage Reference
LM169/LM369 Precision Voltage Reference
General description
The LM169/LM369 are precision monolithic temperaturecompensated voltage references. They are based on the buried Zener reference, pioneered with the LM199 as a reference, but do not require any heaters because they rely on special temperature compensation techniques (patent pending). The LM169 enables the use of thin film technology enhanced discrete laser trimmed resistors to achieve excellent temperature coefficient (temperature coefficient) output voltages (as low as 1 ppm/§C), with tight initial tolerances (as low as 0.05% max) . The plan is this: Trim individual resistors apart, rather than being trimmed (partially cut), to avoid resistor drift over the trimmed area. The LM169 also provides excellent stability against changes in input voltage and output current (both sourcing and sinking). These devices feature a 10.000V output and will operate in either series or parallel mode with the output shorted to proof ground. Neat pins are available which allow fine trimming of the output voltage and also allow filtering which greatly reduces output noise by adding a small capacitor (0.05 to 0.5 IF).
