The FS8S0765RCB is a Fairchild Power Switch (FPS) designed specifically for CRT off-line switching power supplies with minimal external components to monitor. The device is a combination of a current-mode PWM controller and a high-voltage power-value SenseFET in a single package. The PWM controller features an integrated oscillator with an external synchronizing signal, undervoltage lockout, optimized gate driver and accurate temperature compensated current source loop compensation. The device also includes various faults such as overvoltage protection, overload protection circuit protection, abnormal overcurrent protection and overheat protection. Compared to discrete MOSFET and PWM controller solutions, the total cost of FPS, component count, size and weight can be reduced while improving efficiency, productivity and system reliability.
