RC0431 - Low Voltage Adjustable Precision Shunt Regulator
Explain that the RC0431A is a low-voltage three-terminal adjustable precision voltage reference regulator. It has excellent thermal stability over the standard commercial temperature range. The output voltage can be set to any value between the reference voltage (1.24V) and 12V using two external resistors. The RC0431A operates at lower voltages (1.24V) than conventional shunt regulators starting from 2.5V. When used with optocouplers, the RC0431A will be an ideal voltage reference, an isolated feedback circuit using a switching power supply, and a modular DC-DC converter. The RC0431A has a low output impedance active output circuit providing a very sharp turn-on characteristic. The would be a good RC0431A low voltage Zener diode replacement for many applications such as on-board regulation and adjustable power supplies. ...
