SPX2431-Precision Adjustable Shunt Regulator
DESCRIPTION The SPX2431 is a three-terminal adjustable shunt regulator providing a highly accurate bandgap reference. The SPX2431 acts as an open loop error amplifier with a 2.5V temperature compensated reference. The SPX2431's thermal stability, broad operating current (100mA) and temperature range (0°C to 105°C) make it a suitable low-cost, high-performance solution for a variety of applications. The SPX2431A's 0.5% tolerance proved to be sufficient to overcome other errors in the system, all but eliminating the need to trim the power supply manufacturer's production line and contributing to substantial cost savings. The output voltage is adjustable to any voltage value between 20 VREF and two external resistors. In the standard parallel configuration, the combination of low temperature coefficient, sharp turn characteristic, and low output impedance makes the output voltage programmable so accurately a good reference error amplifier. The SPX2431 is offered in a SOT-23-3 package.
