Description Fairchild's Power Switch (FPS) product family is specifically designed for off-line switching power supplies with minimal external components. Fairchild's power switch (FPS) consists of a high voltage power supply and a current value SenseFET mode PWM IC. Features included in the PWM controller are integrated fixed oscillator, under-voltage lockout, gate-opening that optimizes on/off driver, thermal shutdown brown-out protection, over-voltage protection, and temperature-compensated precision current source loop compensation and fault protection circuitry. Compared to discrete MOSFET and controller or roller switch converter solutions, a Fairchild Power Switch (FPS) can reduce overall component count, shrink design size, and weight, and at the same time increase efficiency, productivity and system reliability. It has a basic platform suitable for cost-effective display power supply.
