MAX1614-High-Side N-Channel MOSFET Switch Driver

General description
The MAX1614 driver's high-side N-channel power MOSFET provides battery power switching in portable functional devices. N-channel power MOSFETs typically have one-third the on-resistance of P-channel MOSFETs in comparable size and cost. The high-side drive output voltage generated by the internal voltage regulator and micro-charge pump requires no external components. The MAX1614 also features a 1.5% accurate low-battery comparator that can be used to indicate a low-battery condition, providing an early power-fail warning to the system microprocessor or disconnecting the battery from the load, preventing deep battery discharge and damage. An internal latch allows very low current consumption for on/off control buttons. Shutdown mode current consumption is only 6μA and normal operation requires less than 25μA. The MAX1614 is available in a space-saving µMAX package, occupying about 60% more space than a standard 8-pin SO.
