IR1175-Synchronous rectifier driver

Features Provides constant and proper gate drive power regardless of MOSFET's transformer output Minimizes loss of power MOSFET body-drain diode conduction Operating environment with high current drive capability - 2A type high speed operation - 2MHz to accommodate multiple topologies such as single-ended (future, double-ended)

DESCRIPTION The IR1175 is a high-speed CMOS controller designed to drive N-channel power MOSFETs for use as synchronous forward converters at high currents, high frequency rectifiers with output voltages equal to or lower than 5V DC. The double-pulse-suppressed Schmitt trigger input allows the controller to operate in noisy environments. The circuit does not require any relation to the primary side and derives its operating power directly from the secondary side. Transformer switching minimizes body-drain diode conduction and reduces associated losses by predicting circuit function transformer output transitions and then turning on the power MOSFETs before turning on or off. Turn on/off lead times are adjusted to suit a variety of power MOSFET sizes and circuit conditions. The IR1175 also provides gate-drive overlap/dead-time control to further reduce external component diode turn-on effects and device zero package inductance through a second cycle.
