NCP5351 - 4 Synchronous Buck Power MOSFET Drivers

The NCP5351 is a dual MOSFET gate driver that optimizes both high-side and low-side power MOSFETs to drive a gate-to-gate synchronous buck converter. The NCP5351 is an excellent companion to multiphase controllers without integrated gate drivers such as ON Semiconductor's CS5323, CS5305 and CS5307. This structure provides flexibility in power design to find the MOSFET near the gate driver. The 4.0 A driver capability makes the NCP5351 ideal to minimize large losses in the input capacitance of the switching MOSFET. The optimized internal, adaptive non-overlapping circuit further reduces switching losses to prevent two MOSFETs from turning on at the same time. The floating-top driver is designed to accommodate five MOSFET drains, both sides up to 25 gate outputs can drive high voltage low, supply current down to below 25? One, by applying a low logic level to the Enable (EN) pin. An undervoltage lockout feature ensures that both drivers output low supply voltages when low, and a thermal shutdown feature provides integrated circuit thermal protection. The NCP5351 is pin-to-pin compatible with the SC1205 and is available in a standard SO-8 package, thermally enhanced using QFN-10.

Features • 4.0 peak drive current • Rise and fall times < 15 ns to 6000 pF typical • Propagation delay from input to output "20 ns • Adaptive non-overlapping bulk power MOSFET optimized time • Floating top drive accommodates up to 25 volt applications • Under-voltage lockout function prevents when input switch voltage is low • Thermal shutdown protection against overheating • < 1.0 mA quiescent current - enabled • 25 quiescent current - ? disabled • Internal pull-down resistor for Tg to DRN prevents high-voltage supply from inducing turn-on of the high-side MOSFET
