DESCRIPTION Fairchild's Power Switch (FPS) product family is specifically designed for off-line switching power supplies with minimal external components. Fairchild's power switches (FPS) include high supply voltage value SenseFETs and current mode PWM controller ICs. The PWM controller features an integrated fixed oscillator, undervoltage lockout, leading edge blanking, gate open optimized/shutdown driver, thermal shutdown protection, overvoltage protection, temperature compensated precision current source for loop compensation and fault protection circuitry. Compared to discrete MOSFET and controller or RCC switching converter solutions, Fairchild Power Switches (FPS) can reduce total component count, shrink design size and weight, and at the same time increase efficiency, productivity and system reliability. It has a basic platform that is ideal for cost-effective design of quasi-resonant conversion into C-TV power supplies.
