GENERAL DESCRIPTION The SDA525x contains a TTX, VPS and WSS, an accelerated acquisition slicer hardware module, a "Class 1" TTX data display generator and an 8-bit microcontroller with an operating cycle time of 333 ns . Controller flexibility is guaranteed with dedicated hardware, most of which does not acquire internal processing, data transfer to/from external memory interfaces and receive/transmit data via I2C and UART user interfaces. The block diagram shows the internal organization of the SDA525x. The slicer combines VBI with dedicated hardware to store TTX buffered data in 1 Kbyte. The microcontroller firmware does total acquisition tasks (Hamming and parity checking, web search and evaluating header control bits) once per field.
