FCBS0550 - Smart Power Module (SPM)
General Description It is an advanced Smart Power Module (SPM) newly developed and designed by Fairchild Semiconductor to provide very compact, high-performance AC motor drives primarily aimed at low-power variable frequency drive applications such as refrigerators. It combines optimized protection circuitry and driver-matched low-loss MOSFETs. System reliability is further enhanced with integrated under-voltage lockout and short-circuit protection. The high-speed built-in HVIC provides optocoupler-free single-supply MOSFET gate drive capability, further reducing the overall size of the inverter system design. Each phase of the current inverter can be monitored separately due to the negative divided DC terminal.
