N1164-5-Bit Programmable Synchronous Buck Converter and Controller Dual LDO
Overview The N1164 is a 5-bit TTL compatible input, digital to analog (DAC) programmable, synchronous and dual LDO buck converter controller specially designed to drive the Pentium® II as well as the next generation P6 family or other high performance The core logic is applied in desktop PCs and file server CPUs. The N1164 provides a programmable switching section with output voltages from 1.3V at 2.05V and 2.0V in 50mV steps in 100 to 3.5VmV increments with the linear section using an external N-channel power MOSFET to provide a fixed output voltage of 1.5V GTL bus , the clock is 2.5V. All output voltages are monitored on the N1164. A signal power good signal is issued when its core is a DAC set at ±15%. Other features include built-in overvoltage, overcurrent protection for the core output and logic compatible shutdown.
Features · High efficiency synchronous operation · TTL compatible 5-bit DAC, selectable output voltage from 1.3V to 3.5V programmable · High current totem pole output, up to 2 A for external N-channel direct drive power MOSFET.
200 kHz fixed frequency internal oscillator A high-performance and low-cost solution
Applications ■ Power supply Pentium® II, III or Deschutes, K6 and other advanced processors ■ High power DC-to-DC controller with triple output power supply
