LTC4412 - Low Loss PowerPathTM Controller in ThinSOT Package
The LTC®4413 contains two monolithic ideal diodes, each capable of supplying between 2.5V and 5.5V from the input voltage to 2.6a. Each uses a 100mΩ ideal diode P-channel MOSFET to connect VTA to OUTA and IBA to OUTB. In normal forward operation the voltage drop across these diodes is as low as 28mV per regulator. Diode currents up to 1A with quiescent current less than 40µA. If either output voltage exceeds its respective input voltage, ie the MOSFET is turned off, a reverse current of less than 1µA will flow from OUT to IN. The maximum forward current of each MOSFET is limited to a constant 2.6A and is part of an internal thermal limit circuit that protects under fault conditions. Two active-high control pins independently turn off the two ideal diodes included in the LTC4413, and control modes of operation described in Table 3. When the selected channel is reverse biased, or the LTC4413 is placed into a low power standby state, this status signal indicates that the state has a low voltage. A 9µA open-drain STAT pin is used to indicate conduction status. When terminated to positive supply through a 470k resistor, the STAT pin can be used to indicate that the selected diode is carrying a high voltage. This signal can also be used to drive an auxiliary P-channel MOSFET power switch to control the forward current of a third backup supply when the LTC4413 is non-conducting.
