L293-Quadruple-H driver

Products equipped with Unitrode L293 and L293D now have a wide supply voltage range from Texas Instruments: 4.5 V to 36 V
Independent Input Logic Power Internal ESD Protection Thermal Shutdown High Noise Immune Input Function Similar to SGS' L293 and SGS' L293D
Output current 1 per channel (600 mA for L293D)
Peak output current 2 per channel (1.2 L293D one)
Inductive Output Clamping Diode Transient Suppression (L293D)

Description/Ordering Information The L293 and L293D are quad high current half-H drivers. The L293 is designed to provide bidirectional drive current up to 1 A at voltages from 4.5 V to 36 V. The L293D is designed to provide bidirectional drive current up to 600 mA at voltages from 4.5 V to 36 V. Both devices are designed to drive electrical Inductive loads, such as relays, solenoid valves, DC and bipolar stepper motors, and other high-current/high-voltage loads in positive supply applications. All inputs are TTL compatible. Each output is a complete totem pole driver circuit with Darlington transistor slices and pseudo Darlington sources. Enabled for drivers, with drivers 1 and 2 enabled 1,2 en and drivers 3 and 4 enabled with enable 3,4 en. When the enable input is high, the associated drivers are enabled and their outputs are active and follow their input phase. When the enable input is low, these drivers are disabled and their outputs take off and are in a high impedance state. With the right data input, each driver pair forms a complete H (or bridge) ideal for reversible solenoid or motor driven applications.
